Who is Jim Harbaugh?
Jim Harbaugh is the head coach of the University of Michigan football team. He is a former NFL quarterback who played for the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, and San Diego Chargers.
Harbaugh was born in Toledo, Ohio and played college football at the University of Michigan. He was a starting quarterback for the Wolverines and led them to a Rose Bowl victory in 1986. Harbaugh was drafted by the Bears in the first round of the 1987 NFL Draft.
Harbaugh's Coaching Career
Harbaugh began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Western Michigan University in 1995. He then spent three seasons as the head coach at the University of San Diego before returning to the NFL as the quarterbacks coach for the Oakland Raiders in 2002.
In 2004, Harbaugh was hired as the head coach of the Stanford Cardinal. He led the Cardinal to a 29-21 record in four seasons, including a 12-1 record in 2009. Harbaugh was named the Pac-10 Coach of the Year in 2009.
In 2011, Harbaugh was hired as the head coach of the University of Michigan. He led the Wolverines to a 11-2 record in his first season and a 12-1 record in his second season. Harbaugh was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year in both 2011 and 2012.
